Hey everyone. Some users experienced errors on loading the Wootility with the latest beta release. This update will provide a fix for that issue. Please note that with this update the first thing you’ll see is a firmware update. We did this to make sure that anyone who experiences this issue is able to update without losing any settings. Thanks to everyone on Discord and on our GitHub for helping us solve this issue.

If you’ve been experiencing the crashing make sure to use the Wootility install link directly if you want to make sure you get a stable update experience.

Technical jaba-jaba: the crashing was caused by a stack overflow on profile inits. In our internal testing, we mostly got it when we tried to load an analog profile in the Wootility with DKS enabled. From digging into the code, DKS is also the heaviest to load. We were able to restructure how we load profiles over USB to use a lot less of the stack.

Summary of changes since v4.3.8:

Fix implemented for severe crashing on connection to Wootility from the v2.3.8 firmware. Affected users should disconnect their keyboard and update Wootility, then connect and you will be prompted to update immediately (https://github.com/WootingKb/wootility-issues/issues/140)
Fix localisation being broken in Intel Mac and Linux builds
Fix for remap configurations not applying correctly right after unlinking https://github.com/WootingKb/wootility-issues/issues/135
The display of your chosen keyboard language layout is now more generic and should now correctly display theoretically any chosen system keyboard language layout
